The Universal Declaration of Human Rights makes clear the human right to education. It is our obligation to protect this right regardless of a student's socioeconomic background.
A socioeconomic background should not be a determining factor in the quality of education that a student receives.
Here at Give A Pencil, we believe in equity in the education system and supporting every student’s path to academic success. In order to support these paths, we collaborate with Texas public school teachers in an effort to gain a thorough understanding of their student’s needs. By providing these students with necessary tools, we work to eliminate the idea that a student’s socioeconomic background should dictate their future. Give a Pencil is focused on improving the educational experience of students in elementary, middle, and high school, with a primary focus on low-income public schools. The students we support are bright, driven, and eager to reach their academic goals and aspirations.
We envision a world where every student in Texas, regardless of family income, possesses the tools they need in order to maximize their academic success.
